One night in Bangkok

"One night in Bangkok makes a hard man humble", Murray Head sang for the musical Chess a signature song that summarizes succinctly and without apology, everything is the capital of Thailand. Made of equal parts sleazy and spirituality, commodification and nirvana, Bangkok tourists still held in bondage.

Home to more than 9 million people, the capital of Thailand, is both one of the most popular tourist destinations in Southeast Asia and aspiring metropolis with a wider gap between rich and poor Asia. The chaotic and dynamic city is a dizzying jumble of skyscrapers and crowded malls against colossal buildings and of residential houses. Crowded streets are bustling with vendors and motorcycles, and 7.5 million registered overwhelm roads designed to only 1.4 million cars.

Only an air-hop Bangkok, famous among other things for its festival tattoo fascinating magic (see slideshow Incredible Ink) are floating markets (see slideshow: Footloose in the floating markets of Thailand) and spas (see presentation slide: security in the islands resort in Thailand), but the city does not have its charms, its ties, its temptations and pitfalls. Not much to choose between despair and ecstasy, as some might say, citing written by Swedish songwriter Anders Glenmark song.

And yes, you can not be too careful with your company.
